I hadn't been driving (truck) for more than a month. Almost 14 years ago. I was on my way to LA. We had just gotten the all clear, when I started towards LA. I was at the top of the pass when the fire jumped the freeway. It was five lanes on each side. The whole hillside went up. The inside of my truck got so hot, I started to sweat. The weirdest thing, was seeing people stop and take pictures. Me, I just wanted out of there.

Remember, if you got it, a truck driver brought it. Through sunshine, rain, snow; and occasionally through a fire storm.

It just did it again.
